DETERMINANTS OF ACCESS TO FORMAL CREDIT BY INDIVIDUAL PRODUCTION AND BUSINESSES IN THOT NOT DISTRICT, CAN THO CITY, VIETNAM

Abstract

Currently, with the strong development of diversified industries that has contributed a significant part to the economic development of not only Vietnam but the Mekong Delta. Therefore, business households also play a very important role in our economy and in particular having contributed to the development of Thot Not district, Can Tho city. However, accessing to bank credit of business households  in Thot Not district still faces many difficulties. Based on the data collected from 119 business households, analyzed by the logit binary regression model, analyzing the factors affecting the ability to access official credit of business people in Thot Not district, Can Tho city. The article has pointed out six factors that affect the ability of individuals to access official credit in Thot Not district, ranked from largest to lowest, including: ( 1) Collateral; (2) Gender; (3) Loan procedure; (4) Income; (5) Education; (6 )Age. The topic proposes policies for business households  having demand for loan capital, for local governments, for banks
