THE IMPACT OF POLICY IMPLEMENTATION ON VIETNAM’S SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN RECENT YEARS

Abstract

Vietnam’s economy has experienced great changes since 2007. The economy at some point contained signs of instability. The article is designed to analyze the impact of the limitations of policy implementation on Vietnam’s macro-economic stability in recent years in an objective context of the economy, based on which to propose solution to bringing about a long term sustainable economic development

1.      Which limitations has left their impact on Vietnam’s macro-economic stability?

(1) Vietnam paid much more attention to high economic growth than economic stability.

(2) It is hard for Vietnam to maintain the economic stability for 4 consecutive years for lack of an appropriate policy.

(3) Lack of coordination of the macro-economic policies in many years that led to inflation and macro-economic instability.

(4) No respect for a number of commitments has eroded the people’s confidence.

2.      Some suggestions

(1) Raising the investment efficiency, especially public investment to enhance the economic potential of the country in an attempt to obtain a long term sustainable economic growth

(2) The aim of marco-economic stability should be given priority in the next couple of years

(3) Renovating the management style and coordination of macro-economic policy./.
