Development of small and medium enterprises in the context of economic restructuring - International experience and lessons for Vietnam

Abstract

As holder of the production process and is the main component of the economy, businesses in general and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in particular are the unit will execute the process of restructuring economy. In other words, development of SMEs is the basis for building a new economic structure with higher competitiveness. The requirements on demand, self-raising lucky edge competitiveness of SMEs, the establishment of a consistent system of government policies is an important foundation to ensure, maintain and promote the development of SMEs, through which achieved the restructuring objectives in the shortest possible time. So article analyzing the experience to support development of a national SME, which focuses primarily on policies to enhance the capacity of SMEs and to draw lessons for Vietnam in the context of economic restructuring.
