Inflation in Vietnam post-WTO accession period (2006-2013)

Abstract

In recent years, Vietnam has experienced macroeconomic stability tossed as low growth, twin deficits (budget and trade), high public debt and growing, the dong under pressure to raise prices, high inflation, have greater inertia and move much. Want to better understand the level and volatility of inflation inertia in Vietnam, especially in recent years, competition only see ocet macro factors is not enough. In this article, we perform a detailed study and systematic particular fluctuations of commodity groups in the basket calculated consumer price index (CPI), and compared between localities to determine and analyze the origin of the variation and inertia of inflation in Vietnam. This study focused on the period after 2006, the period when Vietnam began joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the economy witnessed many significant changes in the macroeconomic. This same research group stage can be exposed to data sources relatively complete and consistent.
