Abstract

In the attempt to innovate university governance in Vietnam, research into the use of management practices has been applied to piggybacking in various areas and is essential. Results-based management is not new and has been successfully applied in many countries around the world, but in Vietnam it is still quite new, especially for educational administrators. Even the use of results-based management terminology is inaccurate and inconsistent. A common mistake is the equation between two concepts of results-based management and output-based management. This paper aims to provide a systematic view of results-based management as an effective tool for university administration.
