Exports of agro-products in free trade with China

Abstract

The signing of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between China and ASEAN in 202 resulted in the establishment of the Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GKS) including China's southern provinces, and ASEAN member coutries (Myanmar, Cambodia< Laos, Vietnam and Thailand) and since the signing of the Early Harvesting Program (EHP) in 2004, China and 10 ASEAN member countries have applied the roadmap for tax reduction to almost all agreicultural till 2010.

The result of the application of EPH is quite impressive and encouraging. EPH has facilitated Vietnam to export its agricultural products to China, Still there are still some challenges to overcome.

The article presents the status of Vietnam's export of agricultural products to China in recent years and analyzes the competitiveness if Vietnamese agricultural produces based on the Constant Maker Sheer Model (CMS).
