Vietnam's economic performance in 2009-reaction to policy and results

Abstract

The article is focused on identifying the weakness of Vietnam's economy in the contextof the world economic crisis, and solution thatthe government, the states agencies, ministries and  businesses applied to overcome challenges in 2009; at the same time predicting the problems that Vietnam's economy will be facing in 2010 as well as suggesting policy to the government in order to meet the projected social economic targets by the National Assembly.

The main contents of the article include:

1, Economic performance in the first half of the year and the fall of the economic targets;

2, Government's timely and effective solution with three key measures;

3, Economic performance in final months of 2009: signs of economic recovery;

4, Economic performance in 2010: Macro-economic risks still remain, especially in trade balance, low efficiency in investment.
