“Green” technology for neodymium-recycling using hairy nanocellulose materials
Abstract
Rare earth elements are strategic raw materials for many important high-tech industries. Neodymium is the most demanded rare earth element on the world market. Unpredictable movements of the world rare earth market raises certain challenges for ensuring a stable supply and price of this material. One of the effective solutions that allows countries to be self-sufficient in the supply of Neodymium is to recycle and recover Nd from secondary material sources such as e-waste, used rare-earth magnets, and other industrial waste…The article introduces Nd recycling and recovery technology using hairy nanocellulose particles, a newly developed, environmentally friendly technology with great potential for applications and commercialization in industrial-scale Nd recycling processes.
