Abstract

This study aims to investigate the current status and efficiency of the centralized wastewater treatment system in Binh Hoa industrial area. The survey results found that the wastewater treatment plant of Binh Hoa industrial area was designed with a centralized wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 2000 m3/day.night, but the actual operating capacity was still low with an average discharge of 439 m3/day.night. The results of wastewater analysis after the pressure filter tank of the treatment system showed that pH, SS, BOD5, COD, Ammonium (calculated in N), total Phosphorus (calculated in P), total minerral oil, Coliform, residual Chlorine, Pb, Cu, Zn, Fe and total Phenol were 7.7, 33.5mg/l, 19.5mg/l, 30 mg/l, 0.85 mg/l, 0.61 mg/l, 0.00 mg/l, 295.33 MPN/100 ml, 0.00 mg/l, 0.00765 mg/l, 0.00 mg/l, 0.0052 mg/l, 0.11075 mg/l and 0.00 mg/l, respectively. This physical biochemischy system showed a very effectively in wastewater treatment. All studied water quality parameters meet the national standard (QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT, column A) for effluent discharged into receiving waterway (the Hau canal).
