Abstract

0.9 Pb(ZrxTi1-x)O3-0.1Pb [(Mn1/3Nb2/3) 0.7(Sb1/2Nb1/2) 0.3] O3 piezoelectric ceramics (abbreviated as PZT-PMnSbN) with 10 % wt excess PbO were prepared by columbite method. All the ceramic samples sintered at 1150 °C exhibit a pure  perovskite structure. The structures of the PZT-PMnSbN piezoelectric ceramics changed from tetragonal to rhombohedral with increasing the Zr/Ti ratios. The Qm, ε, tanδ, kp reached to the optimal values at Zr/Ti ratio of 49/51, then the system has high remanent polarization of 49.2 µC.cm−2 and low coercive field of 10.28 kV.cm−1. Furthermore, in the system, the transition temperatures decreased with increasing the Zr/Ti ratios. The piezoelectric ceramic with a Zr/Ti ratio of 49/51 may be suitable for piezoelectric transformer applications and other high power devices.
