STUDIES ON BACTERICIDAL ACTIVITY OF NANOSILVER SOLUTION AGAINST PATHOGENOUS Vibrio cholerae

Abstract

Nanosilver  solution  produced  in  Instutute  of  Environmental  Technology  has  been  used  for studying  its  antimicrobial  activity  against  some  strains  of  Vibrio  cholerae  isolated  from  medical waste  of  choleraic  patients.  The  experimental  data  showed  that  all  the  three  studied  V  cholerae
strains  were  killed  after  15 min  contact  with  nanosilver  solution  of concentration  of  1.0 mg/1. The  MIC  (minimum  inactivation  concentration)  of  nanosilver  has  been  set  up  as  0.25  mg/1 with  a contact  time  of  60 min  allowing  to  kill 99.99%) of choleraic  bacteria. The  obtained  results  proved  that  nanosilver  solution  produced  in  Institute  of  Environmental
Technology  - VAST  can  be  used  as a powerful  disinfectant  for  prevention  of choleraic  disease.
