SYNTHESIS AND STUDY ON THE COMPLEXES OF SOME LIGHT RARE EARTH ELEMENTS WITH L-ISOLEUCINE

Abstract

The complexes were synthesized in the mixture of water-ethanol. The coordination of thecomplexes were determined by chemical analysis, thermogravimetric analysis and IR methods.These complexes are formulated as Ln(Hile),.3NOJ.3H20; (Ln: La, Pr, Nd, Sm; Hile: Lisoleucine).Com parisi on ~fthe IR spectra of the ligand with those of their complexes shows thatisoleucine acts as a bidentate ligand bonding the lanthanides ion through the amino andcarboxylate groups
