Abstract

The design's parameters of three phase squirrel cage induction motors can divide into three main groups. First group are the parameters of main dimension such as inside diameter of statorand length of iron core. Second group are the parameters of stator's winding wire such asnumber of winding wire, diameter of wire and section of stator's slot. Third group are thedimensions of stator and rotor for tooth and slot such as slot's height of stator and rotor, slot'sbreadth of stator and rotor, tooth's breadth of stator and rotor. These parameters are interdependent relation. They can vary from min value to max valuewhich designer has to select. This selection will effect on different copper loss and iron loss inthree phase squirrel cage induction motors. Therefore a design process needs combine to selectthese parameters so that copper loss and iron loss get min value. The efficiency of three phase squirrel cage induction motors can be improved by usinggood steels, advanced technology and good designing. However using good steels and advancedtechnology have to invest more capital so the cost price per product will increase. This research's result is important step helping designer can determine and bring out logical methodfor designing winding wire and the structure of magnetic in order to improve efficient motors
