FACTORS AFFECTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPIRIT TOURISM IN CHAU DOC CITY, AN GIANG PROVINCE
Abstract
Chau Doc city at An Giang province is a destination with great potential for tourism development, especially spiritual tourism with many communal houses and pagodas ranked as provincial and national relics. This type of spiritual cultural tourism is also making many contributions to the growth of the tourism industry as well as the socio-economic development of the City and the province. The study conducted a survey of 100 tourists using questionnaire. The data are processed by Cronbach's Alpha test method, EFA factor analysis to find out the factors affecting the development of spiritual tourism in Chau Doc city. The results identified 6 factors affecting the development of spiritual tourism in Chau Doc, namely accessibility, quality of infrastructure, cost of accommodation, situation of street vendors and visitors’ attractive and tourism development policies… The research results would reccomend for solutions to develop spiritual tourism, improve visitor satisfaction, and contribute to developing and promoting the image of a spiritual tourist destination in Chau Doc city.
