Abstract

Economic development associated with equity and social progress is a cross-cutting goal in national construction renovation, in which policies for the poor and improvement of people's living standards are among the national goals that the Communist Party of Vietnam and the State are interested in solving. Along with economic achievements and many key solutions to ensure social security in the past, Ho Chi Minh City has focused on implementing a sustainable poverty reduction program. In the scope of the article, we briefly summarize the situation of sustainable poverty reduction in the period of 2016-2020 in Tan Chanh Hiep ward in District 12 and Binh Thuan ward in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. On that basis, some practical experiences are drawn on solutions to improve the effectiveness of implementing sustainable poverty reduction policies in the locality, towards ensuring equity and social progress.
