DISCUSS SOME ASPECTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF MIDDLE AND UPPER INCOME CLASSES IN VIETNAM OVER THE PAST DECADE

Abstract

Vietnam has escaped poverty and joined the group of middle-income countries since 2010, which reflects achievements in socio-economic development but also signals a movement towards social division as social and economic development leads to the formation of a new social structure: the middle classes. The development in terms of quantity, quality, or the leading role of the middle class in Vietnam's socio-economic life poses many problems to be explained. Based on secondary sources, the article describes and analyzes some aspects of the development of the Vietnamese middle class in terms of education and employment over the past decade (2010-2020) and discusses some aspects of the development of the Vietnamese middle class as well as some of the issues raised around this development.
