Abstract

Japan's "One village one product" model has contributed significantly to revitalizing the country's rural economy. The model has become part of Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA), exerting influence on policymakers in other countries. What is interesting is that this model has brought valuable lessons to developing economies, including Vietnam. Based on secondary sources, the study introduces the implementation of the "One village one product" model in Japan and its subsequent expansion to developing countries, suggesting a number of implications for rural development in line with a civilised and modern approach.
