Noi theo đạo nhà/Following family’s moral principles

Hồi còn ở Pháp, nhân một buổi trao đổi, tranh luận với nhà văn Albert Camus (giải Nobel văn học), bác sĩ Nguyễn Khắc Viện (1913-1997) nêu vấn đề quan hệ  giữa Khổng giáo và học thuyết Mác ở Việt Nam như thế nào. Sau đó, nội dung này đã được bác sĩ Viện viết thành bài “Confucianisme et Marxisme au Vietnam” [Đạo Khổng và chủ nghĩa Mác ở Việt Nam] đăng trên tạp chí La Pensée, được dư luận quốc tế và trong nước chú ý. Năm 1993, khi Nxb Ngoại văn quyết định in bài này thành sách Bàn về đạo Nho, tác giả đã viết bổ sung một phần đặt tên là “Noi theo Đạo nhà”. Sau 30 năm trải nghiệm những biến động của xã hội Việt Nam và đặc biệt là tự soi rọi vào chính bản thân và thân phụ là một nhà Nho, tác giả đã triển khai chủ đề nói trên một cách sinh động, giúp bạn đọc hiểu sâu hơn về Nho giáo, “Nho sĩ và quan lại”, về chữ “nhân” và “đạo lý”.

ABSTRACT

When in France, in a discussion with writer Albert Camus (Nobel Prize for Literature), Dr. Nguyễn Khắc Viện (1913-1997) raised the issue of the relationship between Confucianism and Marxist in Vietnam. Then, Dr. Nguyễn Khắc Viện publicized that issue under the title of “Confucianisme et Marxisme au Vietnam” (Confucianism and Marxism in Vietnam) in the magazine Pensée, which attracted the attention of domestic and international public opinion. In 1993, when Foreign Languages Publishing House decided to publish that text, entitled “A discussion on Confucianism”, the author wrote an additional section named “Following family’s moral principles”. After 30 years of experiencing Vietnam’s social upheavals and, especially, observing himself and his father who was a Confucian scholar, the author develops the above subject vividly to help readers have a thorough understanding of Confucianism, “Confucian scholars and mandarins”, of “compassion” and “morality”.
