Các bức quốc thư giữa nước ta và các quốc gia trên thế giới vào “kỷ nguyên thương mại Đông Nam Á” (Southeast asia’s age of commerce) thế kỷ XVII-XVIII bổ sung khá nhiều thông tin hữu ích về lịch sử, văn hóa, kinh tế-xã hội của Đại Việt (Đàng Trong - Đàng Ngồi) giai đoạn này. Ở bài viết này, chúng tôi trình bày hướng tiếp cận mới về bức quốc thư của chính quyền Đàng Trong gởi Công ty Đông Ấn Hà Lan (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie, V.O.C) vào niên hiệu Vĩnh Tộ thứ 8 (năm 1626). Hy vọng tư liệu này sẽ góp phần giải mã một số vấn đề quan trọng liên quan đến lịch sử xã hội Đàng Trong cũng như mối quan hệ với Hà Lan đương thời.

ABSTRACT

The letters exchanged between Vietnam and the countries of the world in Southeast Asia’s age of commerce in the 17th-18th centuries added plenty of useful information about the history, culture, and socio-economy of Greater Vietnam (including Cochinchina and Tonkin) at that time. In this article, we present a new approach toward the letter of Cochinchina government to the Dutch East India Company (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie, V.O.C) in the 8th year of reign name Vĩnh Tô (1626). It is hoped that this document will contribute to decipher of some important issues related to the history and society of Cochinchina as well as its relationships with the Dutch at that time.
