Cư dân Nam Bộ có nguồn gốc lưu dân từ miền Trung, nơi có Huế là thủ phủ. Do đó, Huế thường được nhắc đến ở Nam Bộ với tình cảm sâu nặng như là quê cha đất tổ. Điều này thể hiện qua hàng loạt địa danh trên đất Huế được lặp lại ở Nam Bộ. Ngoài ra, yếu tố Huế cũng thể hiện rất rõ qua phong tục, ngôn ngữ và nghệ thuật Nam Bộ mà rõ nét nhất là nghệ thuật đờn ca tài tử.Chính ký ức lưu dân đó giúp Nam Bộ có phong cách sống hài hòa giữa cũ và mới, trong và ngoài, phương Đông và phương Tây, của ta và của người, bảo tồn và phát huy…, làm nên bức tranh văn hóa Nam Bộ tuy đa dạng, sáng tạo mà không lai tạp, mất gốc.

      HUẾ IN SOUTHERNERS’ MINDS OR MEMORY OF THE EMIGRANTS
Most of residents of Southern Vietnam originated from the Central Vietnam where Hue was the capital. Therefore, they often think of Hue with deep feelings as the land of their ancestors. This is reflected in a series of place names in Hue repeated in the South. Besides, the features of Hue are clearly seen in the customs, language and art of the South, the most obvious is the southern amateur music.It is the memory of the emigrants that helps the South to have a harmonious life style between old and new, in and out, East and West, one’s and another’s possession, preservation and promotion, etc.. which create a cultural identity for the South, diverse and creative but not miscellaneousand aracial.
