Sơn truyền thống Việt Nam là vật liệu quý dùng trong công nghiệp và sản xuất đồ thủ công mỹ nghệ. Nó cũng được dùng trang trí công trình cổ. Tuy thế lại chưa có nhiều công trình nghiên cứu về bản chất sơn truyền thống Việt Nam. Một số nghiên cứu ít ỏi chỉ chú trọng vào các vật dụng nhỏ, để ở trong nhà. Cần có những nghiên cứu tìm hiểu bản chất và tìm cách hoàn thiện chất lượng, nâng cao độ bền của sơn trong điều kiện khí hậu Việt Nam. Một số ý kiến về vấn đề được trình bày trong bài.

ABSTRACT 

         Vietnamese traditional paint is a avaluable material used in industries and the manufacture of fine-art handicraft. It is aldo itilised to decorate ancient buildings. However, there have not been a lot of researches that touch upon the nature of Vietnamese traditional paint. A few studies only focus on tiny items used in the house. There should be more reseachers that attempt to search for the nature and to find the way of improving the quality and increasing the paint stability in Vietnamses climate condition. Several ideas of the problem are presented in this paper.
