Communication status is the proactiveness or inactiveness of the communicator in communication activities associated with each particular conversation. There are three types of communication statuses: powerful, weak and equal, corresponding to 12 models. There are many pragmatic factors that can affect the communication status of the communicator, however, the most important factor is the proactiveness or inactiveness of the very communicator in the conversation. The communication status of characters in literature is also affected by many linguistic and literary factors.
