Some Cultural Issues in the Development of Vietnam’s Mainland Border Areas

Abstract

The article summarises, analyses, and evaluates several cultural issues in the development of Vietnam’s mainland border regions. These encompass the transformation and fading of ethnic cultures, the obstruction posed by culture to economic development, and the rise in social vices and instability. Based on these analyses, the article proposes several recommendations to preserve, develop, and utilise culture as a resource for socioeconomic development and the protection of political security in Vietnam’s border regions.
