Mental Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Some Social Groups in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract
This study analyses qualitative data demonstrating the mental impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on several social groups, such as grassroots officials directly supporting residents in pandemic prevention efforts, individuals quarantined at medical facilities or self-isolating at home, business owners, and teachers. The article clarifies the characteristics and nature of the mental impacts on these different social groups and identifies the reasons for such differences. The article is based on fieldwork findings in Ward 13, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City in 2024.
