FACTORS AFFECTING THE DECISION TO PARTICIPATE IN FOOD SAFETY AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION OF FARMERS IN DON DUONG DISTRICT, LAM DONG PROVINCE
Abstract
The research has used the Logit regression model with the Maximum Likelihood Estimation method (MLE) to analyze factors affecting the decision to participate in food safety agricultural production of farmers in Don Duong district, Lam Dong province. The data were collected by directly interviewing 408 farmers in Don Duong district. The result shows that variables in the model explain 34.34% of farmers' decision to participate in food safety agricultural production. Besides, this study shows factors such as education level, experience, profitability, extension, awareness of food safety, and information exchange have an impact on farmers' decision to participate in food safety agricultural production. On the other hand, information exchange, extension, and awareness of food safety have the strongest and most positive effects on farmers' decision to participate in food safety agricultural production.
