THE APPLICATION OF FUNCTIONALISM THEORY IN INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH (IN THE CASE OF HOCHIMINH CITY THEATER)

Abstract

Nowadays, the usage of theories from various disciplines for research projects is no longer a strange thing, but it has become a trend of interest and acceptance. We can find many basic theories of social sciences and humanities that have been applied methodically and creatively. In this article, we boldly choose functionalism as a typical case in the wide amplitude of interdisciplinary research. Specifically, this theory is considered for the case of drama theater in Ho Chi Minh city. The results drawn from the application will bring new approaches, interesting and useful new points of view, reaching out from the particular space, which is very familiar like arts or theater.
