ABSTRACT

This paper evaluates the potential and the factors influencing the development of the esports industry in Vietnam. The global esports sector is booming and significantly impacting various fields such as technology, media, and advertising, with Vietnam being a promising market. However, the esports industry in Vietnam faces challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of specialized human resources, and the absence of a clear legal framework. The study proposes solutions including investment in technical infrastructure, human resource training, and the establishment of an appropriate legal framework. Additionally, there is a need to raise public awareness about the value of esports and to promote the harmful effects of excessive gaming. Implementing these solutions will help Vietnam develop a sustainable esports industry, contributing to the growth of the digital economy and positioning the country as a regional esports hub.

TÓM TẮT

Nghiên cứu này đánh giá tiềm năng và các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến sự phát triển của ngành thể thao điện tử (Esports) tại Việt Nam. Ngành Esports toàn cầu đang bùng nổ và có tác động lớn đến nhiều lĩnh vực như công nghệ, truyền thông và quảng cáo, với Việt Nam là một thị trường tiềm năng. Tuy nhiên, ngành này tại Việt Nam còn gặp phải các thách thức như thiếu hạ tầng, nguồn nhân lực chuyên môn và khung pháp lý rõ ràng. Nghiên cứu đề xuất các giải pháp như đầu tư vào hạ tầng kỹ thuật, đào tạo nguồn nhân lực, và xây dựng khung pháp lý phù hợp. Đồng thời, cần nâng cao nhận thức xã hội về giá trị của Esports và tuyên truyền về tác hại của việc chơi game không hợp lý. Việc thực hiện các giải pháp này sẽ giúp Việt Nam phát triển một ngành thể thao điện tử bền vững, góp phần thúc đẩy nền kinh tế số và đưa Việt Nam trở thành trung tâm Esports khu vực.
