Abstract

 Employing conventional scientific
research methodologies prevalent in physical
education and sports, this study undertakes an
evaluation of the current state of needs and factors
influencing participation in extracurricular
sports among students at Phu Yen University. The
assessment covers multiple facets: the overarching
demand for extracurricular sports engagement
among students; specific participation demands
for various extracurricular sports disciplines;
determinants affecting students’ involvement
in extracurricular sports activities; the current
academic performance in Physical Education
among Phu Yen University students; and the
present physical fitness levels of students at
Phu Yen University. The findings from this
comprehensive evaluation will inform the
strategic development of an extracurricular sports
program tailored for Phu Yen University students,
ultimately contributing to the enhancement of
physical education quality at Phu Yen University.
