THE LAW ON ACCESS TO GENETIC RESOURCES AND SHARING THE BENEFITS RESULTED FROM ACCESS TO GENETIC RESOURCES - THE STATUS QUO AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Abstract

Access and benefit sharing rules aim at managing and protecting the diversity of genetic resources - one of the three pillars of biodiversity. Through researching access and benefit sharing rules, the paper clarifies the concept of access and benefit sharing, principles of access  to genetic resources, subjects accessing genetic resources, forms of access and benefit sharing and state management of access to genetic resources. On that basis, the paper offers recommendations for improving the law on access and benefit sharing.
