IMPROVING THE LAW ON APPLICATION OF SENDING TO COMPULSORY DETOXIFICATION ESTABLISHMENTS

Abstract

Sending to compulsory detoxification establishments is among important administrative handling measures which are considered by district-level people’s courts for application to drug addicts in order to isolate them from community and to force them to take medical treatment measures, to work, and to follow general education and to take vocational training programs at compulsory detoxification establishments. The practical application of this measure, however, has faced many difficulties in the past time due to inadequacies of the law. The paper analyses the difficulties arising from the practical application of the law on sending to compulsory detoxification establishments and offers proposals for law improvement in this regard which directly serve the amendment and supplementation of the Law on handling administrative law violations and legal normative documents specifying this Law in the coming time.
