Some issues in the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) concerning workers and female workers

Abstract

The draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) is in the stage of consulting people's opinions before the 15^th National Assembly can give its opinions in its 6th session (October 2023). Besides inheriting previous provisions, the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) also includes many new provisions aiming to overcome previous inadequacies and respond to new conditions. The Law on Social Insurance impacts workers in general and female workers in particular due to their gender, physiological and psychological characteristics. Contributing to the improvement of the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) with regards to female workers, the article comments on and analyses a number of subjects in the draft, such as: social insurance regimes, one-time social insurance, social insurance management costs associations, subjects participating in compulsory social insurance and voluntary social insurance, maternity benefits, and retirement benefits.
