Regulating the relationship between practising democracy, promoting the rule of law, and ensuring social discipline in Vietnam nowadays

Abstract

The XIII Party Congress determined the need to unify and effectively implement the important relation between "Practise democracy, strengthen the rule of law, and ensure social discipline", aiming to contribute to ensuring the people's democratic rights in the current conditions. Ensuring and improving the aforementioned relation is even more essential in the context of a developing and improving rule of law government that heightens the role and value of the law in regulating social relations. The article studies a number of theoretical issues on the relation between democratic practise, strengthening the rule of law, and ensuring social discipline; analyses and evaluates current relevant legal provisions; and thereby proposes solutions to improve the legal basis to effectively deal with the relation between democratic practise, strengthening the rule of law, and ensuring social discipline in Vietnam nowadays.
