Developing digital communication capabilities of journalists and the public
Abstract
In the new era of national development, as digital journalism and media become the platform of a knowledge-based society, every citizen is an "information agent" participating in shaping media reality. The spread of digital platforms and artificial intelligence not only changes how people receive and analyze news, but also creates an urgent need for digital communication capabilities - the ability to access, evaluate, and respond to information responsibly, creatively, and humanely. Based on the theoretical frameworks of UNESCO, NAMLE, and Hobbs (2020), this article analyzes the digital communication capabilities of the Vietnamese public; identifies specific challenges and proposes a group of solutions to develop these capabilities towards a transparent, humane, and sustainable information society.
