Three dimentional laser sanning technique produced by Topcon with the GLS-2000 product has
been bringing many effective and economical applications in the field of cartography, construction and
interdisciplinary studies.
3D Laser scanner technology is a combination of laser electronic long-measuring technologies, digital
photography, geo-informatics has made a scientific and technical revolution in the field of mapping and
related fields. With the advantages of fast measurement time, large detail density and high accuracy, the
product of 3D Laser Scanner is a point cloud of measuring points with terrain and non-terrain elements.
Assesment of the accuracy of 3D Laser Scanner measurement data is an important job that not only
contributes to the assessment of the reliability and efficiency of the work of mapping 3D digital data and
related applications, but also to the training courses for major of geodesy at the Hanoi University of Natural
Resources and Environment [3]. In this article, 3D Laser Scanner GLS-2000 data was used to compar
with data measured by electronic total stations, the cheaper device, that has been widely and stably used in
comparison of measurement accuracy.
