Online teaching and learning has been adopted at Halong University as an effective solution in time of
Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of this paper is to focus on the effectiveness of online teaching and learning via
Zoom, and the difficulties the teachers and students have during the online training. Apart from summarizing
the brief history of online teaching and learning, the study analyses the problems of this online mode of
learning and proposes possible solutions to overcome the challenges in teaching and learningforeign
languages online.
