SKILLS NEEDED FOR GENERATION Z & GENERATION ALPHA

ABSTRACT
Generation Z (1996-2010) and Generation Alpha(2011-2025) are characterized by being more innovative,
tech-savvy and emotionally intelligent compared totheir predecessors. Generation X-ers (1965-1980)- known
as the post boomers are very self-reliant and they learn to balance their personal life and work life.Generation
Y-ers (1981-1995) - known as Millennials are ambitious but they are often unfocused and need guidance.
They are capable of multi-tasking and strive for equality and thinking globally.Each of these generations has
their own mindset, beliefs, and values when it comes to life and work.This article gives a bird’s eye view of
the characteristics of the Generation Z and Generation Alpha and essential skills to assist them to become
successful citizens making their personal contributions to the growth of the national economy.
