Abstract: Diplomacy has always played a crucial role in national development, contributing to affirming Vietnam’s position on the global stage. The development of diplomacy not only brings external values in international relations but also supports the internal development of the nation's economy, politics, culture, and society. Promoting a comprehensive and robust Vietnamese diplomacy is an essential requirement in the new era: building an independent and self-reliant diplomatic foundation is both a task and a driving force to enhance Vietnam's status and role in today’s international arena. Identifying the origins of an independent and self-reliant diplomacy provides the foundation for further leveraging the role and strength of diplomacy in this critical phase of national development.
