RESEARCHING, APPLYING, AND CREATIVELY DEVELOPING HO CHI MINH'S THOUGHT IN THE RENOVATION PERIOD – ACHIEVEMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

Abstract: Since the 7th National Congress (1991) — the first time the Communist Party of Vietnam officially affirmed the important principle that "the Party takes Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought as the ideological foundation and guiding compass for actions" — the country has undergone nearly 40 years of renovation, achieving historic accomplishments and attaining unprecedented national strength, position, and international standing. Vietnam now stands at the threshold of a new era of development. The question arises: What achievements has the Party made in researching, applying, and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's thought? What limitations and shortcomings still need to be addressed in the country's new development phase? This article seeks to contribute answers to these questions.
