The prison model of juvenile offenders in Korea and experience for Vietnam

Abstract

In Vietnam nowadays, many juvenile offenders are imprisoned along with adults in prisons, causing many inadequacies for a competent authority to execute a prison sentence since this goes against Rule 30 of the 1990 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on protecting juveniles deprived of their liberty and therefore cannot guarantee the best interests of juveniles.
