EDUCATING KNOWLEDGE OF THE TERRITORIAL SOVEREIGNTY AND NATIONAL BORDERS IN TEACHING GEOGRAPHY GRADE 12 - HIGH SCHOOL IN LANG SON PROVINCE

Abstract

Strongly protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty of national territory and borders is the sacred responsibility of every Vietnamese citizen. The Ministry of Education and Training has directed schools to integrate the education of sovereignty of national territory and borders in general and sea and island sovereignty in particular into their curriculum. Geography in general and Geography grade 12 is seen to have favorable characteristics to contain the content. This report refers to the following major research results: Characteristics of Grade 12 Geography textbook program and the ability to integrate content of territorial and border sovereignty; requirements for the implementation and some pedagogical measures in integrating this knowledge in teaching Geography Grade 12 in Lang Son province; Specific lesson plans and pedagogical experiment.
