BUILDING A MODEL OF SMART PARKING SYSTEM IN VIETNAM BASED ON INTERNET OF THINGS AND CLOUD SERVER TECHNOLIES

Abstract

Currently, the problem of traffic congestion and parking demands is becoming a critical problem in big cities in Vietnam. Building smart parking system is an optimal solution to solve this problem based on the development of science and technology. In this study, we propose to build and deploy a smart parking system model to solve the parking requirements of users. In this system, parking lots are built based on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies combined with cloud storage technology to store data. Data information of parking lots such as parking costs, number of available parking spaces are periodically updated on the system in real time. This information is used as parameters for the user to make optimal decisions in finding and booking his or her parking space. We have successfully implemented the smart parking system in real world, including parking hardware, user application for searching and booking, guidance function in the system.
