CLINICAL, ENDOSCOPIC AND HISTOLOGICAL FEATURES OF PATIENTS WITH GASTRIC ADENOCARCINOMA IN THE ANTRUM
Abstract
This study describes some clinical features, macroscopic images and histopathological characteristics of gastric adenocarcinoma tumors. The study subjects included 150 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma operated at Hanoi K hospital using a cross-sectional descriptive study method. The results revealed that the rate of stomach cancer is highest in the age group 60-69, male/female ratio: 1.94/1. The most common systemic and functional symptoms were epigastric pain (99.3%). Ulcerative lession was 53.3%, followed by polypoid (36%), polyps (2.7%), and infiltrates (8%). According to Lauren classification, intestinal type accounted for 72.7%, diffuse type was 22.7% and mixed type was 4.7%. According to WHO, 58.7% of cases are tubular adenocarcinoma, signet ring cell carcinoma was 22.7%, mucinous adenocarcinoma was 12%, mixed carcinoma was 4.7% and papillary adenocarcinoma was 2%. In terms of differentiation, 19.3% of cases was well differentiated, moderately differentiated was 37.3%, and poorly differentiated was 43.3%. All most patients (98.7%) were diagnosed and undergoing surgery at an advanced stage (stage II to stage IV).
