FLAVONOIDS FROM MILLETIA RETICULATA IN VIETNAM
Abstract
The plants of the genus Millettia with the main chemical components belonging to the flavonoid group are known to be valuable medicinal herbs and have been widely used in folk remedies. In particular, the species Milletia reticulata Benth has the effect of curing joint pain, rheumatism; treatment of back pain, numbness, pain, injury, blood circulation, etc. From the n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions of the stem from Milletia reticulata in Lang Son province, three flavonoid compounds have been isolated and determined, including 5-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxyflavanone (MR1), 4′-methoxytectochrysin (MR2) and pashanone (MR3). Their chemical structures were elucidated by 1D- and 2D-NMR and by comparison with those reported in the literature. This research result is consistent with the main chemical composition of species of the genus Millettia reported.
