Abstract

Study effects of growing season and planting distances on growth, development and yield of Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb. was conducted in 2 crop seasons (02/2020 to 02/2022) in Thanh Tri - Hanoi. The single-factor experiments were arranged according to the method of complete randomization (RCBD) with 3 replicates, the area of each experimental plot is 10 m2. The season experiments were arranged with 6 treatments (15/Feb., 01/Mar., 15/Mar., 01/Apr., 15/Apr. and 01/May). The distance experiments were conducted with 5 treatments (20 x 20 cm (đ/c), 20 x 30 cm, 30 x 30 cm, 30 x 40 cm, 40 x 40 cm). Our results showed that the highest medicinal materials yield of Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb. was obtained in growing season of Apr.1st (6.94 to 7.87 tons/ha). Meanwhile, planting distance of 30 x 40cm (density of about 83,333 plant/ha) showed the highest medicinal materials yield from 8.47 tons/ha. This study indicated that the season and planting distance was most suitable for Curcuma aeruginosa plant growth, development and high yields.
