Promoting the role of science and technology in fostering innovation in China and implications for Vietnam

Abstract

China, starting from a low base in science and technology, has risen to become one of the world's leading innovation powers in just a few decades. This breakthrough is the result of persistently implementing a strategic innovation strategy, with the state as the central guiding force and placing science and technology at the core of the entire national development strategy. This article analyzes China's success in leveraging the role of science and technology in innovation and draws lessons and suggestions for Vietnam.
