Overview of the Raglai people’s folkliterature in the South Central Region

Abstract

The initial results achieved in recent years, despite being modest, allow to affirm that the Raglai people have a folk literature with many genres of historical, cultural, and deeply educational value such as ancient stories (myths, epics, magical fairy tales, fables, funny stories); folk poetry, rhymes such as folk songs, proverbs, idioms, and riddles. Raglai folk literature is verbal artistic creation, reflecting the perceptions, experiences, and feelings of the Raglai people about nature and society, formed and synthesized from real life, transmitted, and fostered over many generations. The article provides an overview of the content, meaning, form of expression, story types and transmission method of Raglai folk literature genres.
