Tóm tắt

Peer-Mediated Instruction and Intervention (PMII) is an effective strategy for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in developing social skills within inclusive educational settings. This article reviews 11 experimental studies conducted in elementary school contexts, focusing on various forms of PMII, such as peer support groups, structured play, and peer-delivered social skills training. The findings indicate that PMII significantly enhances social interaction, as well as the initiation and response of communicative behaviors among students with ASD. The review underscores the pivotal role of teachers, the systematic preparation of peer mediators, and a supportive classroom environment in optimizing the effectiveness of the intervention. Furthermore, it highlights the potential for implementing this approach in Vietnamese elementary education.
