THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS IN LEARNING CHINESE COMMUNICATION SKILL

Abstract

According to the United Nations report, there are about 6,500 languages in the world. Among them, Chinese is one of the most widely spoken language. Chinese is not only spoken in home country but also a common language in many countries and territories. More than 70 countries around the world have introduced Chinese into the national education system. Chinese language major in Vietnam is also attracting many students to study. According to statistics of the Ministry of Education and Training, Chinese language major is considered for admission at 48 universities in Viet Nam. Learning a foreign language in general and Chinese in particular requires basic training through four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Of these skills, Chinese speaking language or Chinese speaking skill is almost the last goal that learners most desire to master. There are many methods to study and practice Chinese speaking skill. Today, with the development of information technology, a wealth of knowledge is available at the fingertips of learners thanks to the applications of information technology in studying. This article introduces the useful applications of information technology and popular social networking websites that help to provide learners with good learning enviroments to improve their Chinese communication skill.
