Current status of academic advising activities for second-year students at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2023
Abstract
In universities, academic advising influences career choices, develops interest in a particular major, optimizes research abilities, and improves the recipient's relationships. adviser. A cross-sectional study to describe academic advising activities in 2nd-year students of 07 regular training majors of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, conducted from January to June 2023. Research results show that the percentage of students who participated in 1 to 2 academic advising activities in the last year was 73.1%. The contents of consulting activities are mainly dissemination of training and practice goals; training program framework; solving difficult problems for students; Helping students propose their thoughts and aspirations to the universities and realizing the School's rules and regulations. Most students rated their satisfaction with the implementation content of academic advising activities. To improve the effectiveness of this activity, the school needs to promote the training and improvement of the professional and working skills of the mentor team. This not only contributes to improving the quality of training but is also a factor in ensuring training quality, reputation, and brand of the universities.
