Developing a list of important drug-drug interactions in inpatient prescription practices at Hai Duong General Hospital 2023
Abstract
Objective: To develop a list of important drug-drug interactions in inpatient prescription practices at Hai Duong General Hospital. Subjects and Research Methods: The research was conducted in three phases: The first phase involved compiling a theoretical list of drug interactions from the hospital's medication list; The second phase involved identifying drug interactions with a frequency of occurrence ≥ 1% through a survey of 400 inpatient medical records; Finally, a list of drug interactions for clinical practice was compiled by a professional team including physicians and clinical pharmacists. All drug interactions were detected using Micromedex 2.0 software, HDSD, and Decision No. 5948/QD-BYT. Results: Based on the data, the research team developed a list of 25 pairs of contraindicated drug interactions that require attention in inpatient prescription practices. Conclusion: This list of significant drug interactions can be disseminated across departments and integrated into the prescription software to alert users of potential interactions at Hai Duong General Hospital.
